What is a TiniCAT?
TiniCAT products are NOT patented. Schematics are open to the ham population and provided as TiniCAT understands Hams like to build, modify and experiment. This is what hams do! Feel free to download these documents and home brew one if you like. Have FUN!
In many cases bare PC boards are available for home brew / experimenters.
USB converter products are excluded from this as they are commercial products from other companies.
Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)are located here for items like solder and batteries if included in any TiniCAT product.

FT-847, FT-1000MP, FT-920, FT-450, FT-2000, FT-9000 radios don't require a level converter as it is built into the radio. However TiniCAT builds super shielded CAT cables for these radios.

CAT level converters only
TiniCAT Basic (TC-B)
TiniCAT Basic is a small circuit board level converter using two transistors, two diodes one capacitor and three resistors. This circuit board is the size of your thumbnail and solders to the nine pin serial port connector and is covered by the connector hood.
This "Basic" circuit converts TTL level CAT signals from some radios to RS-232 levels your computer serial port requires
This product is available in both built and tested versions as well as various "build it yourself" kits
TiniCAT Basic USB (TC-B-USB)
This product is simply a USB level converting cable used for both Portable and Classic listed radios. This product requires driver software to be loaded to create Com ports from USB ports.
TiniCAT Pro (TC-P)
TiniCAT Pro is a full specification RS-232 level converter.
TiniCAT Pro interfaces are for TiniCAT Classic radios. However they can be configured for Portable radios.
This is the original TinCAT sold
It is is a small plastic box.
Older versions are just CAT conversion.
Hundreds of these were sold, they have a nine pin D jack and short pigtail with a red RCA power plug and a pigtail with either a standard size DIN plug or Mini Din plug for CAT.
The Rev E models have a small circuit board added for the CW/PTT and a second yellow RCA plug for this function.

The TiniCAT + Sound Card interface is a CAT level converter and digital mode sound card interface built in one interface that uses a single serial port. The "black box" module can be used for either "Portable" or "Classic" radios with no configuration changes. The Cable set that plugs into the the box are different for the "Portable" and "Classic" radios. This design makes it possible to use the same box or module for different radios.
This product is available in built and tested versions and various "Build It Yourself" versions. From complete kits to bare board circuit boards for hams who enjoy experimenting. Again the black box or module circuit is the same for both Portable and Classic radios. Consult documents for cable sets for this product for Portable or Classic differences.
